Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation while maintaining dignity
- Monitor resident condition and report changes to nursing staff promptly
- Assist with feeding, toileting, grooming, and personal hygiene in a respectful way
- Document care accurately and promptly to ensure continuity and quality
- Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care
Qualifications
- GNA certification (state-approved) — required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Comfortable working the 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM evening shift
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
- Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and health requirements as needed
- Previous long-term care or geriatric experience is a plus but caring attitude and a willingness to learn are highly valued
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of an accredited GNA training program and current certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic resident care
- Safe transfer and positioning techniques
- Basic infection control and safety procedures
- Accurate documentation and attention to detail
- Effective teamwork and communication with residents and clinical staff
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
