Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents, supporting dignity and comfort
• Assist with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs, observations, and any changes in condition
• Communicate resident needs and changes promptly to nurses and the care team
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices
• Document care accurately and thoroughly to support quality outcomes
• Encourage resident engagement and independence through meaningful interaction
• Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to support person-centered care

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — Maine certification preferred or eligible to obtain
• Recent CNA experience preferred; new grads who completed a state-approved program are welcome
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or obtained promptly after hire
• Ability to provide safe patient handling and assist with mobility
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Foundations of resident care and activities of daily living
• Accurate vital sign measurement and basic clinical observation
• Infection prevention and safe work practices
• Clear, respectful communication with residents, families, and team members
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced care setting
