Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Interventional Radiology setting
• Assess patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure to ensure safety and optimal outcomes
• Collaborate with the IR team, including neuro IR techs and physicians, during diagnostics and procedures like thrombectomies and stent placements
• Document thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to maintain continuity of care
• Perform and assist with IV starts, patient transport, and procedural preparation
• Participate in call rotation and respond promptly to department needs, including occasional floats to nearby sites
• Maintain compliance with unit policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) and complete required competencies and orientation exams

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in Interventional Radiology, ICU, or ER (required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; PALS preferred
• Valid driver’s license required at time of submittal (used for radius verification)
• Comfortable with call rotations and occasional floating within Radiology

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient charting and documentation in EPIC
• Experience with Siemens Artis Icono or similar IR imaging equipment
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills, especially in neuro/IR cases
• IV starts and procedural support skills
• Ability to work collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team and communicate clearly under pressure
• Professionalism, reliability, flexibility, and a patient-oriented approach
