Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care in a long-term care setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule
• Monitor resident conditions and promptly report changes to the care team
• Perform thorough documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes
• Assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting dignity and independence
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and other staff to deliver coordinated care
• Support infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and team members
• Respond calmly and effectively during emergencies and urgent situations

Qualifications

• Active LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in New Mexico or compact-state equivalent
• Completion of an accredited practical nursing program
• Current CPR/BLS certification per facility policy (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Comfort working overnight shifts and providing hands-on care in a long-term care facility
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Completion of an accredited LPN/practical nursing program
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and safe documentation
• Basic wound care and dressing changes
• Resident assessment and vital signs monitoring
• Electronic charting and basic computer literacy
• Infection control practices and safety protocols
• Time management, organization, and compassionate bedside manner
