Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care for critically ill patients in emergency and intensive care settings
• Manage invasive and non-invasive ventilation, tailoring support to patient needs
• Perform cardiopulmonary monitoring and diagnostic testing with accuracy and compassion
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans, therapies, and equipment use
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives to elevate care
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document interventions and patient responses clearly and promptly

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — 2+ years RRT experience required
• Michigan state respiratory license required (no out-of-state licenses accepted)
• NBRC credential required
• ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Comfortable and experienced with mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• Comfortable interpreting and using EKG data in patient care
• CRT credential holders will be considered
• Travel experience preferred for contract assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator troubleshooting
• Cardiopulmonary monitoring and interpretation of EKGs
• Diagnostic testing skills for pulmonary and cardiopulmonary disorders
• Patient education techniques for respiratory disease management
• Equipment maintenance and infection control procedures
• Quality assurance processes and participation in improvement activities
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
