Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and respond to telemetry changes to keep patients safe
• Administer chemotherapy and manage symptom control for oncology patients with compassion
• Perform IV starts, manage central/PICC/arterial lines, and administer blood products accurately
• Interpret ABGs and dysrhythmias and intervene or escalate as appropriate
• Manage patients on High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and CPAP/BiPAP support when needed
• Practice rigorous infection prevention and fall-prevention strategies to protect vulnerable patients
• Chart patient care clearly and timely in EPIC so the whole team stays informed
• Float to equivalent Med-Surg Oncology units as needed to support staffing and patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license and a minimum of 2 years RN experience required
• BCLS (BLS) certification required
• EPIC charting experience required — you'll be documenting like a pro
• Oncology experience preferred but not required — willingness to learn is key
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Comfort managing telemetry patients and a 1:4 patient ratio
• Able to float to comparable Med-Surg Oncology units as needed
• Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Chemotherapy administration and oncology symptom management
• IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/PICC/arterial line care
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and respiratory support knowledge (CPAP/BiPAP, trach care)
• Interpretation of ABGs and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with B450 GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, bladder scanners, and Stryker beds
• Strong infection prevention practices and fall-prevention strategies
• Proficient Epic charting and interdisciplinary communication
