Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage patients rapidly to prioritize care in a fast-paced ER
• Stabilize acute and trauma patients using evidence-based emergency interventions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Coordinate care with physicians, techs, and support services to move patients through the system
• Document clinical findings, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Provide compassionate patient and family education during stressful moments
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or ability to obtain state licensure (License/Certificate Verification required)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• Clinical experience in emergency nursing is preferred
• Ability to pass Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Successful completion of required health screenings: Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, immunizations, and physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Trauma and critical care familiarity with rapid decision-making
• IV start, medication administration, and advanced cardiac life support skills
• Clear, calm communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficient documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining compassion and professionalism
