Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in Preop and PACU areas for orthopedic and general surgery patients
- Perform OR circulation duties to ensure safe, efficient surgical procedures and seamless intraoperative communication
- Assess, monitor, and stabilize post-anesthesia patients with timely interventions and clear documentation
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative team to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about perioperative processes, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions
- Maintain meticulous charting and handoffs to support continuity of care and patient safety
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies while championing best practices
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Colorado RN license (required)
- ACLS certification (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- Demonstrated skills in OR circulation and PACU nursing
- Experience supporting orthopedic and general surgery cases (perioperative focus)
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working day shift schedule with a focus on excellent patient-centered care
Knowledge & Skills
- Perioperative nursing principles and PACU recovery standards
- OR circulation workflow and sterile field awareness
- Post-anesthesia assessment, airway management basics, and pain control strategies
- Patient education and compassionate bedside manner
- Clear, concise documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
- Basic familiarity with surgical instrumentation and orthopedic case flow
