Shift Type: Variable (traveler's choice of 4x12 or 3x12) — Day shifts: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM; Night shifts (NOC): 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM; Typically 4 twelve-hour shifts per week (days of week vary by facility and will be determined at start)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $43 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric residents in a long term care setting
- Administer medications safely and perform vital sign monitoring with accuracy and attention to detail
- Manage feeding tube care (G-tube/NG tube) and perform Foley catheter insertions and maintenance as needed
- Perform phlebotomy, IV hydration prn, respiratory treatments, and basic wound care following facility protocols
- Document care and patient status changes in the ECS charting system and communicate clinical concerns to RN/MD promptly
- Follow infection control and isolation precautions to protect residents and staff
- Assist with admissions, ambulation, bathing, mouth care, and other activities of daily living to support resident dignity and safety
- Float within scope to support facility staffing needs and collaborate with interdisciplinary team including social services
Qualifications
- Valid Alaska LPN/LVN license in hand — absolutely required (no pending licenses)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Long Term Care (LTC) experience required
- Previous travel experience required — first-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Comfortable with resident ratios up to 1:20 and able to prioritize care in a busy LTC environment
- Willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) and adhere to RTO restrictions
- Able to float within scope to meet facility needs
- If accepting facility-provided vehicle, provide valid driver's license and proof of insurance prior to operating
Education
- Graduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing program
- Active LPN/LVN license (Alaska) required
- BLS certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and accurate charting in ECS
- Vital sign monitoring and assessment
- Feeding tube (G-tube/NG) care and management
- Foley catheter insertion and genitourinary care
- Phlebotomy and IV hydration basics
- Oxygen administration and respiratory treatments (nebulizers, nasal cannula)
- Wound care and basic skin integrity management
- Admission processes, communication of status changes to RN/MD, and isolation precautions
- Experience with geriatric diagnoses such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, TBI, plegia, and cognitive/physical impairments
- Use of lifts and safe patient handling techniques
