Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents with dignity and respect
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and toileting
• Support safe transfers and mobility assistance using proper body mechanics
• Monitor resident condition and promptly report changes to the nursing team
• Document care accurately and timely in resident charts or electronic records
• Help create a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in social activities
• Follow infection control practices and maintain a safe, clean care area
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and family members to support individualized care plans

Qualifications

• GNA or CNA certification (state-accepted) preferred or required as applicable
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior experience in long-term care, geriatric, or skilled nursing settings is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening and required immunizations
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate bedside manner
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, repositioning and standing for shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA/CNA certification (as required by state/facility)

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Basic clinical skills: vital signs, ADL assistance, safe transfers
• Familiarity with infection prevention and safety procedures
• Comfortable with documentation and following care plans
• Teamwork mindset and good communication with residents and colleagues
• Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a busy shift
