Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to residents during overnight hours
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, changes in condition, and interventions
- Collaborate with nurses, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe care
- Respond quickly and effectively to patient needs and overnight emergencies
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility charting system
Qualifications
- Valid LPN licensure (Licensed Practical Nurse) — current and in good standing
- Comfortable and experienced working overnight 12-hour shifts
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Ability to work all scheduled days (Sun–Sat as assigned) for the assignment period
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work well on a team
- Current basic life support (BLS) may be required by facility
Education
- Practical Nursing diploma, certificate, or equivalent training
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical nursing skills for long-term care and skilled nursing populations
- Medication administration and documentation proficiency
- Wound care basics and infection control practices
- Patient assessment, charting, and handoff communication
- Ability to prioritize and respond during overnight events
- Familiarity with electronic medical records or willingness to learn
