Shift Type: Rotating night schedule: Every other weekend plus two weekday shifts (Sunday-Saturday schedule), 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Night shift (must be willing to take charge when needed)

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately and in line with facility policies
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during resident treatments and examinations
- Observe residents, record significant changes, and promptly notify supervisors and providers
- Take and interpret vital signs to assess residents' conditions and intervene as needed
- Assign and coordinate nursing unit duties to ensure resident needs and regulatory requirements are met
- Maintain unit narcotics records and ensure safe medication handling practices
- Document admissions, discharges, transfers and incidents thoroughly and promptly
- Participate in care plan development, complete nursing assessments, and keep care plans current
- Train, orient, and evaluate nursing personnel to support a high-performing unit
- Inspect resident rooms and unit areas to promote cleanliness, comfort and resident safety
Qualifications
- Active Michigan RN license required (Nursys verification expected at submission)
- MI CNA license required
- BLS (AHA) certification required and must be current
- Minimum 2+ years experience in LTC, SNF, or Med-Surg settings
- At least one successful travel RN assignment completed (document on work history)
- Able and willing to take charge when needed and provide leadership on shift
- Comfortable with animals on site (facility has dogs, cats, and birds)
- Agency must have active MI iCHAT account and be authorized to schedule fingerprinting
- Flexible scheduling required; blocked scheduling will not be approved
- RTO (return to office) cannot exceed 5 days; explain any employment gaps over 3 months
Education
- Active Michigan RN license required (no specific degree stated in job data)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medication administration and treatment skills in long-term care
- Accurate vital sign assessment and clinical observation abilities
- Skilled documentation for admissions, discharges, transfers, and incident reporting
- Experience coordinating unit nursing duties and supervising staff
- Competence with care planning, nursing assessments, and completing care plans timely
- Familiarity with narcotics control and secure record keeping
- Comfort with facility processes such as fingerprinting/iCHAT and infection prevention
- Good communication with residents, families, supervisors and interdisciplinary teams
