Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to elderly residents with dignity and respect
• Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report any changes to nursing staff
• Support meal assistance and ensure residents receive proper nutrition
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with routine charting
• Help create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification or equivalent (required)
• Demonstrated experience working with geriatric or long-term care populations preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check and required health screenings (TB, immunizations)
• Strong communication skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care (lifting, transferring)

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred; completion of an accredited GNA program required

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of basic geriatric care principles and common age-related conditions
• Comfortable with personal care tasks and mobility assistance
• Good observational skills to notice changes in resident status
• Ability to follow care plans and communicate effectively with nursing staff
• Familiarity with infection control practices and safe handling techniques
