Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver purposeful therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, massage, gait and balance training
- Record patient progress and outcomes accurately and timely in patient documentation
- Report treatment results and clinical observations to the supervising physical therapist
- Participate in care planning and follow-through to help patients meet functional goals
- Engage patients with empathy and clear instruction to maximize adherence and recovery
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) credential
- Minimum 2 years of PTA experience — required
- Valid Texas license or Compact license — required
- Comfortable documenting patient progress and communicating with supervising PTs
- Professional, team-oriented attitude with strong patient-facing skills
Education
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (typical requirement for PTA roles)
Knowledge & Skills
- Therapeutic exercise techniques and progression
- Manual techniques including massage where appropriate
- Gait training and use of assistive devices
- Balance training and fall-prevention strategies
- Strong patient documentation and reporting practices
- Ability to follow treatment plans and report outcomes to supervising PT
