Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic and screening mammography, including 3D tomosynthesis on Hologic Selenia Dimensions
- Conduct DEXA scans using GE iDXA after cross-training, ensuring accurate bone density assessments
- Maintain meticulous QC/QA logs and ensure FDA/ACR compliance for imaging equipment and records
- Document exams and patient interactions in Cerner EMR with clarity and timeliness
- Provide compassionate patient care and education throughout imaging procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and the care team to escalate findings and optimize patient pathways
- Participate in training and process improvements to elevate imaging services locally
Qualifications
- Required: Experience using Cerner EMR (explicit requirement for this role)
- ARRT Mammography certification or state-equivalent credential as applicable
- Active state radiologic technologist license where required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or equivalent per facility policy
- Hands-on experience with mammography systems; experience on Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D is preferred
- Familiarity with DEXA scanning; ability and willingness to be cross-trained on GE iDXA
- Experience with QC/QA processes and maintaining FDA/ACR records
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven skill in mammographic positioning, image acquisition, and dose optimization
- Knowledge of tomosynthesis (3D mammography) workflows and system operation
- DEXA imaging principles and patient positioning (training provided for GE iDXA)
- Quality control procedures, record-keeping, and regulatory compliance (FDA/ACR)
- Comfortable and accurate documentation within Cerner EMR
- Strong patient communication, empathy, and ability to handle sensitive exams professionally
- Basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment and collaboration with service teams
