Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care: rapid assessment, stabilization and ongoing management of acute patients
• Triage patients and prioritize care based on acuity and clinical need
• Administer medications, IV therapy and emergency interventions safely and accurately
• Document care and patient status in the electronic medical record (Meditech 6.0 preferred)
• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers and the ED team for smooth, timely care
• Take scheduled 24-hour call shifts when assigned and respond promptly to emergent needs
• Educate patients and families on conditions, interventions and follow-up care
• Contribute to handoffs and care transitions to maintain continuity and patient safety

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license — Arizona RN or compact license preferred
• Previous Emergency Room nursing experience; travel nurse experience strongly preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and covering occasional 24-hour call shifts
• Experience with Meditech 6.0 is preferred
• Current BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or obtainable upon hire
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency assessment and triage proficiency
• Acute care interventions and rapid decision-making
• IV therapy, medication administration and documentation best practices
• Familiarity with Meditech 6.0 or similar EMR systems
• Calm, efficient performance under high-acuity and high-stress situations
• Team collaboration, clear handoffs and patient-centered communication
