Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Rapidly assess and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced ER environment
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary team to stabilize and treat patients
- Float between units as needed to support patient flow and staffing demands
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, treatments, and handoffs
- Complete required compliance tasks and competency assessments within designated timeframes to ensure safe practice
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (California license preferred)
- Experience in Emergency Room nursing or similar acute care setting preferred
- Current PALS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
- Nursys registration or ability to register/verify via Nursys
- Willingness to work 12-hour day shifts and weekends, float between units
- Ability to complete full compliance profile within two weeks of start date
- Required immunizations and testing per facility policy (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB test, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test, physical/health statement)
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Room nursing practices and procedures
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and provide consistent weekend coverage
- Competency in core Prime exams: pharmacology, rhythm interpretation, core competencies, specialty skills
- Clinical certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS
- Nursys license verification familiarity
- Adaptability to float between units and handle changing patient acuity
