Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the cath lab and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready and functioning
• Assist physicians during diagnostic catheterizations, PCI, EP studies, device implants, and structural heart procedures
• Monitor patient status continuously before, during, and after procedures and communicate changes clearly
• Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols
• Perform equipment checks, troubleshoot devices, and coordinate with central service as needed
• Accurately document procedures, patient care, and inventory in the electronic record
• Participate in the on-call rotation and provide reliable coverage for night and weekend needs
• Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and licensing/verifications in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification required
• Active state license or certification as required; license/certificate verification will be completed
• Experience working in a cath lab environment with diagnostic cath, PCI, EP, and device procedures preferred
• Willingness and ability to complete required screenings: fit test, immunizations, drug screen, TB testing, and related health requirements
• Comfortable with call responsibilities, night coverage, and periodic weekend assignments
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with cath lab instrumentation, fluoroscopy workflow, and device handling
• Understanding of sterile technique and infection prevention practices
• Ability to monitor hemodynamics and recognize changes in patient status
• Basic ECG rhythm recognition and cardiac procedure terminology
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and supply management
• Calm under pressure and quick decision-making during emergent situations
