Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care for residents, supporting activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing and feeding
- Take and record vital signs and measure outputs accurately to support clinical decision-making
- Observe, document and report changes in residents’ physical and mental conditions promptly
- Assist with restorative care activities including range of motion and use of assistive devices to promote independence
- Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions to protect residents and staff
- Work as an active member of the treatment team, participating in care planning and patient assessments
- Respect resident rights and maintain dignity while delivering direct personal care
Qualifications
- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification or equivalent
- At least 6 months of experience working in a long-term care (LTC) facility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers certification required within six months of employment
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand simple sentences in English and follow instructions precisely
- Demonstrated patience, tact and an even temperament when working with residents
- Physical ability to perform essential duties of the role and assist with patient mobility
Education
- CNA certification (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers (must be obtained within six months of employment)
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient care and personal hygiene best practices
- Infection control and universal precautions
- Taking vital signs and basic nursing skills
- Measuring output and recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
- Restorative care techniques, assistive devices and range of motion activities
- Strong observation, documentation and communication skills
- Cultural competency and the ability to work well in a team
