Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate direct patient care for stepdown patients during night shifts
• Continuously monitor cardiac and hemodynamic status and act quickly on changes
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and collaborate with the care team on interventions
• Administer medications and manage drips per protocol while maintaining accurate documentation
• Perform thorough assessments, escalate concerns to providers, and support family communication
• Complete required unit competencies, exams, and skills checklists to maintain excellence

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (Nursys verification required)
• BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and DCI/BVP required
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and previous stepdown/telemetry experience preferred
• Completion of Prime exams and skills checklist as listed in onboarding requirements
• Ability to pass required health screenings, immunizations, fit test and a minimum 10-panel drug screen

Knowledge & Skills

• Stepdown/telemetry patient monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Basic pharmacology and safe medication administration, including drip management
• NIH Stroke Scale familiarity and acute stroke care awareness
• Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and effective communication
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and thorough clinical documentation
