Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of outpatient imaging — ensure efficient, patient-centered services
- Supervise and mentor Lead and Senior Technologists and support staff
- Manage staffing and resource allocation to meet productivity and budget goals
- Oversee image quality control and enforce departmental policies and procedures
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, Title 17/22, ACR)
- Act as liaison among patients, physicians and care teams to resolve issues and improve care
- Support staff development, performance evaluation, and progressive discipline when needed
- Collaborate with service engineers, nursing, and clerical teams to coordinate imaging services
Qualifications
- Current CRT issued by the California Department of Health Services OR ARRT license
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 5 years as a working Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist in an acute-care setting
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience in an acute-care environment
- Desired: additional supervisory/managerial experience (3–5 years preferred)
- Comfortable performing and supervising diagnostic procedures across age groups (pediatric to geriatric)
Education
- Associate Degree (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of radiologic imaging principles, positioning, exposure, and radiation safety
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, Title 17 & 22, and ACR standards and survey/compliance practices
- Experience with quality assurance, image quality control, and performance improvement
- Leadership skills: delegation, coaching, conflict resolution, and staff development
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to monitor departmental performance and make evidence-based resource recommendations
