Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, supporting activities of daily living with dignity
- Monitor residents’ condition and report changes promptly to the nursing team
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and safe use of equipment to prevent falls
- Support meals, feeding assistance, and mealtime needs with patience and respect
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care and observations
- Promote a warm, home-like environment and engage residents in meaningful interaction
- Adhere to infection control policies and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
Qualifications
- GNA certification required
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working overnight shifts and adapting to per diem scheduling
- Ability to pass background check and required health screenings/immunizations
- Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills with residents and families
Knowledge & Skills
- Experience with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care
- Basic clinical observation skills and ability to report changes clearly
- Familiarity with resident safety, transfers, and fall prevention
- Good charting/record-keeping habits and attention to detail
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to follow care plans
