Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to geriatric residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while promoting dignity and independence
- Take and report vital signs and observe residents for changes in condition
- Support safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
- Document care accurately and communicate changes to nursing staff promptly
- Build trusting relationships with residents and their families to enhance quality of life
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment by collaborating with colleagues
Qualifications
- Current GNA certification (required)
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care for older adults
- Basic knowledge of infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to take and record vital signs accurately
- Good documentation and reporting habits
- Empathy, patience, and strong observational skills
