Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly and promptly
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and complete required skills checklists
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and positive patient experiences
• Support transitions of care through effective communication and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Iowa license required
• BLS certification (required) and NIHSS (required)
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to complete required pre-employment health checks: Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, and physical/health statement
• Medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

• Medical-surgical nursing principles and bedside care
• Patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
• Medication administration and IV management
• Infection prevention and patient safety practices
• Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
• Comfort with competency-based testing and skills verification processes
