Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions clearly and promptly
- Participate in Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and complete required skills checklists
- Promote patient safety, infection control, and positive patient experiences
- Support transitions of care through effective communication and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Iowa license required
- BLS certification (required) and NIHSS (required)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Ability to complete required pre-employment health checks: Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, 2-step PPD or IGRA, Varicella, and physical/health statement
- Medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Medical-surgical nursing principles and bedside care
- Patient assessment, monitoring, and documentation
- Medication administration and IV management
- Infection prevention and patient safety practices
- Effective communication with patients, families, and the care team
- Comfort with competency-based testing and skills verification processes
