Roles & Responsibilities
- Direct pharmacy operations across assigned regional sites, ensuring safe, efficient medication use and strong patient outcomes
- Lead development and implementation of pharmacy policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
- Collaborate with system pharmacy leadership to analyze problems, develop solutions, and drive operational and budgetary planning
- Manage pharmacy information systems and inventory control processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Represent pharmacy on key committees such as Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Medication Safety to influence system-wide standards
- Coach, mentor, and develop pharmacy staff; lead hiring, performance evaluations, and partner engagement efforts
- Monitor productivity and performance metrics and adjust plans to meet targets for operations and patient care
- Step in as pharmacy manager when needed and take on additional duties to support the director and sites
Qualifications
- PharmD from an accredited college or university
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration or equivalent work experience
- Licensed Pharmacist in Wisconsin (active license required)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a pharmacy setting
- Proven leadership, communication, and collaborative skills across interdisciplinary teams
- Experience with pharmacy information systems, inventory control, and quality assurance programs
- Ability to participate effectively on system committees and drive change
Education
- PharmD degree (required)
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration preferred or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Pharmacy operations and pharmacy management best practices
- Medication safety principles and quality assurance methodology
- Development and enforcement of policies and procedures, regulatory compliance
- Inventory control, budgeting, and fiscal oversight for pharmacy sites
- Pharmacy information systems, charge systems, and related IT collaboration
- Human resources functions including hiring, evaluations, and corrective action
- Committee participation and cross-functional communication
- Leadership, coaching, and partner engagement strategies
