Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide advanced critical care nursing for trauma, burn, and surgical ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Perform and manage wound care, participate in massive transfusion protocol (MTP) activations, and care for EVDs
• Respond rapidly and effectively to codes and emergency situations to support patient survival
• Document care accurately and efficiently using Meditech EMR to maintain continuity and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly, and advocate for patient-centered care
• Maintain appropriate patient ratios (typical ICU 2:1) and prioritize care in a high-acuity environment
• Float to related specialty units as needed while maintaining high standards of clinical practice

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience with Trauma, Burn, or Surgical ICU exposure (must-have)
• BSN preferred
• CCRN preferred
• Comfortable with critical care procedures such as wound care, EVD management, and MTP participation
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills; team-oriented and willing to ask questions
• Ability to float to MSICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, or PCU as needed

Education

• RN license required
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise with critical care equipment and high-acuity monitoring
• Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical record
• Skilled in wound care, EVD management, and emergency code response
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork in dynamic ICU settings
• Comfort managing trauma and burn patient needs and complex surgical cases
