Shift Type: Rotating schedule, primarily nights 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; rotating weekends and may include mixed day/night shifts as needed (13-week assignment)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate critical care for pediatric patients in the PICU
- Manage ventilators, assist with intubation and extubation, and monitor respiratory support
- Titrate vasoactive drips, sedatives, and paralytics safely according to protocols
- Perform and interpret EKG/EEG monitoring and telemetry to detect changes quickly
- Operate and troubleshoot unit equipment such as Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, and Giraffe infant warmers
- Coordinate and document patient care accurately in the Meditech EMR and Pyxis systems
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and support families through critical care decisions
- Float to NICU, Nursery, or OB/GYN areas when qualified to ensure continuity of patient care
Qualifications
- Current and active RN license in applicable state
- Minimum 1 year pediatric ICU nursing experience (candidates without this will not be considered)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Comfortable with ventilator management, intubation, and critical drip titration
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Pediatric critical care principles and PICU best practices
- Ventilator management and non-invasive respiratory support such as BiPAP and High Flow O2
- Sedation management and vasoactive medication titration
- EKG, EEG, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo feeding pumps, Giraffe infant warmers
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR and Pyxis medication systems
- Ability to perform procedures such as spinal taps, port access, and sedated MRI support
