Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments and develop patient-centered care plans
- Manage ventilators and advanced airway therapies for critically ill patients
- Deliver evidence-based respiratory treatments including aerosolized therapy, oxygen therapy, and secretion management
- Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and adjust therapy in collaboration with providers
- Respond rapidly to respiratory emergencies and participate in code/rapid response situations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, home therapies, and equipment use
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Minimum 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience (as noted in posting)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS preferred
- Current or eligible for state respiratory therapy licensure
- Comfortable with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and critical care environment
- Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ventilator management and advanced airway support
- Proficient with arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation
- Knowledgeable in oxygen delivery systems, aerosolized medication delivery, and pulmonary hygiene techniques
- Familiar with infection control practices and patient safety standards
- Able to prioritize care in fast-paced, acute settings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
