Shift Type: Rotating nights, varied days across the week, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend (Night shift)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $49 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a busy emergency department
- Provide timely interventions and administer medications and treatments according to orders
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition, including participating in code responses
- Document care clearly and efficiently in the unit documentation system, Meditech
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow up plans
- Follow unit policies, safety protocols and the indicated dress and professionalism standards
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with 2+ years of emergency department specialty experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
- NIH certification required
- Meditech experience preferred
- Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend and participating in call rotations
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN or BSN acceptable, BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong emergency nursing assessment and triage skills
- Ability to manage high-acuity and rapidly changing patient conditions
- Proficient clinical documentation and charting using Meditech
- Excellent communication and teamwork in fast paced settings
- Critical thinking and prioritization under pressure
- Compassionate patient and family education and support
