Shift Type: Rotating nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night), every-other-weekend rotation (includes weekends)

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, high-acuity critical care to adult ICU patients including post-CABG and cardiac transplant cases
- Manage ventilators and deliver advanced respiratory support for mechanically ventilated patients
- Perform continuous hemodynamic monitoring and titrate therapies in collaboration with intensivists
- Support ECMO and other advanced cardiac therapies as required by the unit
- Deliver thorough bedside shift reports and maintain up-to-date whiteboard communication for the team
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and adhere to unit policies and protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans
- Serve patients with professionalism, compassion, and a strong focus on patient safety and outcomes
Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license required (temporary license not accepted)
- Minimum 2+ years of ICU/critical care experience (CVICU or cardiac ICU experience preferred)
- BLS and ACLS required; current CPR certification required
- Demonstrated experience with ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
- Proven skill in hemodynamic monitoring and post-CABG/cardiac post-op care
- Experience with ECMO, heart transplant, or CVICU care is a strong plus
- Meditech experience preferred
- Comfortable working in a very high acuity unit and able to float to other ICUs or PCU when needed
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced cardiac and critical care assessment skills
- Ventilator management and respiratory therapy collaboration
- Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
- Post-operative cardiac care including CABG and transplant patient needs
- Familiarity with ECMO support and high-acuity protocols
- Proficient documentation habits, ideally using Meditech
- Strong bedside communication including shift-to-shift handoff and whiteboard updates
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
