Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the cost accounting system and lead service line profitability analysis to inform strategic decisions
• Publish monthly service line and physician practice P&Ls and develop clear practice scorecards
• Oversee the Decision Support system for major strategic and financial planning projects
• Review and validate financial feasibility studies prepared with STRATA and other tools
• Develop templates in STRATA for ROI, NPV, IRR and other capital project metrics
• Establish regular leadership meetings to review performance and support improvement plans for underperforming service lines
• Prepare and generate reports for audits, GME reporting, and external agencies including S&P, Fitch, DAC, and EMMA
• Train and mentor staff, including the supervisor of decision support and special projects analyst
• Provide oversight for software implementations including STRATA forecasting, ERP components, and leasing software

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
• Minimum 10 years of experience in cost accounting, budgeting, and decision support in healthcare
• Experience with STRATA financial software or a similar financial planning/decision support system
• Proven healthcare finance experience, preferably in hospitals or health systems
• Supervisory or mentorship experience leading analysts or small teams
• Familiarity with hospital contracting, physician reimbursement, and bundled payment models (preferred)
• Master's Degree (MBA or MHA) and financial or healthcare certifications are a plus

Education

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (required)
• Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Health Administration (MHA) (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cost accounting and service line profitability analysis
• Budgeting, forecasting, and rolling forecast processes
• P&L preparation and financial reporting
• Financial feasibility analysis and capital evaluation (ROI, NPV, IRR)
• STRATA system expertise (implementation and forecasting module experience)
• Productivity systems and labor utilization analysis
• Ad hoc and audit reporting, and reporting to external rating agencies
• ERP implementation oversight and software project coordination
