Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
- Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize care in a fast-paced ER environment
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record
- Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives, and infection control practices
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas or multistate compact license
- Minimum of 1 year of emergency department nursing experience
- Current BLS certification; ACLS required or preferred depending on unit
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Ability to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; ADN or BSN acceptable (BSN preferred by some facilities)
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and rapid assessment in emergency situations
- Stabilization and management of acute and traumatic conditions
- IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring
- Effective communication and teamwork under pressure
- Familiarity with ED workflows, safety protocols, and basic EHR documentation
