Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Rapidly assess and triage patients to prioritize care in a fast-paced ER environment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, techs, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient care clearly and thoroughly in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and follow-up plans
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives, and infection control practices

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas or multistate compact license
• Minimum of 1 year of emergency department nursing experience
• Current BLS certification; ACLS required or preferred depending on unit
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Ability to function effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program; ADN or BSN acceptable (BSN preferred by some facilities)

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment in emergency situations
• Stabilization and management of acute and traumatic conditions
• IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring
• Effective communication and teamwork under pressure
• Familiarity with ED workflows, safety protocols, and basic EHR documentation
