Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to outpatient cardiology patients following established standards and best practices
- Coordinate patient care as the primary liaison between patients, providers, and clinic staff
- Assist providers and clinical managers in delivering seamless, patient-centered care
- Interpret EKGs and monitor for cardiac arrhythmias with attention to detail
- Administer and monitor cardiac medications and therapeutic interventions safely
- Document care accurately, maintain clinical records, and support quality improvement efforts
- Educate patients and families about cardiac conditions, medications, and follow-up plans
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure excellent nurse-to-patient ratios and personalized care
Qualifications
- MT RN licensure (active) required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Basic coronary class required
- At least 2 years of cardiac nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient coordination skills
Education
- Graduate of nursing program
Knowledge & Skills
- EKG interpretation and identifying cardiac arrhythmias
- Familiarity with cardiac medications and related procedures
- Patient care coordination and outpatient clinic workflows
- Medical terminology and basic nursing principles and procedures
- Key boarding skills and basic office/administrative skills
- Compassionate bedside manner and ability to build patient rapport
