Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality patient care for medical/surgical and critically ill patients from admission through discharge
• Operate and monitor advanced medical equipment including ventilators, A-lines, central lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
• Perform thorough patient assessments and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
• Serve as a clinical leader on the unit and assist with precepting new staff and nursing students
• Coordinate discharge planning and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Delegate and provide direction to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care

Qualifications

• Current Montana RN licensure (required)
• BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• PALS, EPNC, TNCC certifications (preferred)
• Experience practicing in an advanced medical/surgical unit with recent critical care nursing experience (required)
• Proven ability to operate ventilators and manage invasive lines and multiple IV pumps
• Strong assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfort with precepting and acting as a clinical resource for the team

Education

• Degree from an accredited Nursing Program

Knowledge & Skills

• Direct patient care and critical care nursing principles
• Advanced patient monitoring and ventilatory support
• Management of central lines, A‑lines, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
• Patient assessment, discharge planning, and clinical leadership
• Familiarity with advanced medical equipment and inpatient unit workflows
• Ability to collaborate with providers, charge nurses, and leadership
