Roles & Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients to identify functional needs and establish meaningful goals
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy treatment plans
- Use therapeutic procedures and assistive devices to maximize patient independence
- Document patient progress clearly and communicate findings to the referring physician
- Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Services team to deliver coordinated care
- Educate patients and families to support successful home carry-over of therapy
Qualifications
- Current CA Occupational Therapist License (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy (required)
- Clinical competence in patient evaluation and treatment
- Working knowledge of referring physician orders and the State Practice Act
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy
Knowledge & Skills
- Patient evaluation techniques and standardized assessment tools
- Designing and implementing therapeutic procedures
- Use and fitting of assistive devices to improve function
- Rehabilitation services workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Accurate clinical documentation and reporting
- Familiarity with CA State Practice Act and referring physician orders
- Compassionate patient-centered care and effective patient/family education
