Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy Department and ensure high-quality patient care
• Supervise, mentor, and directly oversee certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians
• Lead the clinical education and competency process for OT staff to maintain best practices
• Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% clinical practice) with skilled, evidence-based interventions
• Develop, update, and enforce OT policies and procedures that define scope of care, evaluation/treatment standards, documentation, and discharge planning
• Ensure regulatory compliance with state practice acts, board requirements, and professional standards
• Oversee documentation and discharge planning to promote safe, efficient transitions of care
• Support program development and perform administrative tasks as assigned (roughly 20% of role)

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (required)
• Current California OT license issued by the Board of Medical Quality Assurance (required)
• Ability to function in accordance with the California State Practice Act and department standards
• Experience supervising COTAs and rehabilitation support staff (leadership and oversight skills)
• Possess any additional qualifications recommended by the California Therapy Board and Rehabilitation Services Department
• Membership in the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) preferred

Education

• Graduate of an AOTA approved Occupational Therapy program (required)
