Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate PCU nursing care to adult patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and vital signs, escalating changes in condition promptly
• Perform thorough assessments and implement individualized care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, RRTs, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Respond effectively in emergency situations and assist with rapid interventions

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must be able to practice in the assignment state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or acute care nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of progressive care/step-down patient care practices
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• IV therapy, medication administration, and patient assessment
• Electronic medical record documentation
• Prioritization, time management, and triage skills
• Ability to work well in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
