Roles & Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders to ensure safe, accurate patient dosing
• Dispense medications and manage Pyxis inventory to maintain reliable supply
• Document thoroughly in the EMR (Meditech) and communicate medication plans with the care team
• Provide patient and caregiver counseling to support medication adherence and understanding
• Participate in medication safety and quality improvement initiatives to improve outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians to optimize pharmacotherapy
• Support unit-based pharmacy operations to ensure timely medication delivery

Qualifications

• Active TSBP (Texas State Board of Pharmacy) license required
• At least 1 year of recent pharmacy experience (per job posting)
• Hands-on experience with Meditech and Pyxis (must-have skills)
• Vigilanz experience is a strong plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively on interdisciplinary teams

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Meditech EMR workflows
• Experienced using Pyxis automated dispensing systems
• Familiarity with vigilance/medication surveillance tools (Vigilanz)
• Solid medication safety, dispensing, and inventory management practices
• Ability to counsel patients and communicate clinical recommendations clearly
