Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-acuity labor and delivery nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal heart tracings and intervene appropriately to support positive outcomes
• Assist and circulate in C-sections, working seamlessly with surgical and anesthesia teams
• Administer and manage IV therapies, including high-acuity drips like magnesium
• Perform OB triage assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate changes clearly to the care team
• Float within the women’s and children’s service line as needed to support unit staffing

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing (state licensure required)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWOHHN Fetal Heart Rate Intermediate
• Experience with Meditech or similar documentation systems preferred
• Comfortable with high-acuity patients and circulating/scrub roles in the OR
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong fetal heart rate interpretation and intrapartum monitoring skills
• IV therapy expertise and infusion management (e.g., magnesium drips)
• C-section assistance and OR circulating/scrub familiarity
• Knowledge of epidurals, spinals, cerclage and obstetric procedures
• Experience in OB triage and rapid clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with Level III NICU care principles and when to collaborate/transfer
