Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM, schedule includes every-other-weekend and varies to meet department needs (evening/night focused, rotating coverage)

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a high-volume ED population
- Perform rapid and accurate triage assessments to prioritize patient care
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and unit clerks to coordinate efficient patient flow
- Document assessments and interventions in Cerner clearly and timely
- Operate and interpret cardiac monitors and manage Baxter infusion pumps as needed
- Coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to team members to support a culture of continuous improvement
- Adhere to AIDET and patient-experience practices to keep patients informed and respected
- Adapt to varied ED sections and support behavioral-hold and high-acuity patient ratios
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
- Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED preferred
- Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
- ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
- Comfort with teamwork, coaching, and providing feedback in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to float within ED sections and work every-other-weekend
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency nursing and triage best practices
- Proficient Cerner documentation skills
- Cardiac monitoring interpretation and use of GE monitors
- Medication and infusion pump management (Baxter pumps)
- Strong patient communication using AIDET and patient-experience principles
- Ability to work in high-volume, multicultural settings and de-escalate behavioral situations
- Teamwork, coaching, and real-time feedback skills
