Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a high-volume ED population
• Perform rapid and accurate triage assessments to prioritize patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and unit clerks to coordinate efficient patient flow
• Document assessments and interventions in Cerner clearly and timely
• Operate and interpret cardiac monitors and manage Baxter infusion pumps as needed
• Coach, mentor, and provide real-time feedback to team members to support a culture of continuous improvement
• Adhere to AIDET and patient-experience practices to keep patients informed and respected
• Adapt to varied ED sections and support behavioral-hold and high-acuity patient ratios

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) credential
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED preferred
• Required certifications before start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Comfort with teamwork, coaching, and providing feedback in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to float within ED sections and work every-other-weekend

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing and triage best practices
• Proficient Cerner documentation skills
• Cardiac monitoring interpretation and use of GE monitors
• Medication and infusion pump management (Baxter pumps)
• Strong patient communication using AIDET and patient-experience principles
• Ability to work in high-volume, multicultural settings and de-escalate behavioral situations
• Teamwork, coaching, and real-time feedback skills
