Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist
- Apply therapeutic procedures and modalities to restore strength, mobility, and range of motion
- Use assistive devices and adaptive techniques to improve patient function and safety
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and families on home exercises and strategies to manage pain
- Document treatments accurately and adhere to the State Practice Act and facility policies
Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Ability to work under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist and follow State Practice Act
- Comfortable performing therapeutic procedures, modalities, and using assistive devices
Education
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic modalities and assistive devices
- Strong understanding of range of motion, mobility, and pain management techniques
- Patient-centered care and strong interpersonal communication
- Accurate documentation and adherence to clinical protocols
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and follow clinical direction
