Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and direct nursing staff to ensure smooth patient flow across the hospital
- Coordinate assignments and nursing resources to match patient acuity and demand
- Organize workflow and ensure staff understand delegated duties and expectations
- Monitor staff productivity and provide constructive coaching and feedback
- Collaborate with charge nurses, clinical teams, and the CNO on administrative decisions
- Respond to and resolve patient and family complaints with empathy and professionalism
- Oversee clinical support functions including ventilator care, invasive lines, and chest tubes
- Initiate and drive special projects to improve operations and patient care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Montana
- Minimum 3 years of hospital RN experience (recent ICU experience preferred)
- CPR required; ACLS and PALS required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Experience with ventilator support, A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, IV pumps
- Proven leadership experience such as resource nurse, house supervision, or charge roles
- Strong critical thinking, conflict resolution, and people skills
Education
- Degree from a Nursing Program (ADN or BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced nursing principles and post-operative patient care
- Cardiac monitoring and management of critically ill patients
- Patient flow operations and resource allocation
- Comfort with advanced medical equipment and multiple IV pumps
- Ability to work with all age groups from infancy to geriatrics
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service mindset
- Basic office equipment and documentation skills
- Project initiation and development skills for process improvements
