Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation for critically ill patients using Servo I, Hamilton and similar ventilators
• Perform ABG analysis and adjust respiratory care plans based on results
• Provide and titrate CPAP/BiPAP, nebulizer therapy, and chest physiotherapy to improve patient outcomes
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and collaborate with physicians and nurses for rapid interventions
• Document assessments, treatments and patient progress accurately in Meditech EMR
• Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies and discharge care plans
• Participate as an engaged team member on a fast-paced unit, contributing to quality improvement and best practices

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications
• Previous Meditech experience preferred by leadership
• Trauma experience is a plus
• Demonstrated critical thinking, strong communication and teamwork skills
• Valid state respiratory therapy license and ability to meet credentialing requirements

Education

• RRT credential (required)
• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation management and ventilator weaning
• ABG sampling and interpretation
• CPAP/BiPAP setup and titration
• Nebulizer therapy and chest physiotherapy (CPT)
• Experience with Servo I, Hamilton, V60, Astral ventilators
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR for documentation
• Ability to handle high-volume procedures (approx. 44-46 procedures per shift) in a fast-paced setting
