Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and act swiftly on rhythm changes
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and escalate changes in condition
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and aftercare plans
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa (license/certificate verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass Trinity 10 panel drug screen, fit test, and background checks
• Current immunizations per facility policy (COVID-19, Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, PPD/IGRA)
• Prior experience in medical-surgical and telemetry settings preferred

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in cardiac telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Competence with IV therapy and medication administration
• Accurate electronic charting and documentation skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to prioritize multiple patients and tasks in a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with competency testing and skills validation processes
