Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing for ICU patients during night shifts
• Monitor and interpret complex hemodynamic data, respond rapidly to changes in patient status
• Manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and advanced life support therapies with confidence
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapy, and support staff — to create and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and outcomes clearly and timely in the patient record
• Participate in unit-based competency testing and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Educate patients and families with compassion during high-stress situations

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license appropriate for practice in Iowa
• Minimum ICU/Critical Care experience and comfort working night shifts
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed
• Successful completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings: Fit Test, Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen, immunizations and TB testing per employer policy
• License/certification verification completed prior to start

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with ventilator management and advanced airway support
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Skilled at prioritizing multiple high-acuity patients during busy night shifts
• Excellent communication and teamwork in fast-paced ICU settings
• Comfort with unit competency programs and structured clinical checklists
