Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to cardiovascular surgery patients
- Monitor and assess hemodynamic status and post-operative recovery with attention to detail
- Administer medications and therapies safely, following established protocols
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care
- Perform patient education and discharge planning to support smooth transitions home
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
- Act swiftly in emergencies, drawing on critical thinking and clinical skills to support positive outcomes
Qualifications
- Current RN license (eligible for Texas licensure or compact license holders welcomed)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiovascular surgery or related cardiac OR/ICU care
- BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Current basic competencies in surgical and post-operative cardiac care
- Ability to pass facility background checks and drug screening
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of post-op cardiac physiology and hemodynamic monitoring
- Familiarity with cardiac devices, chest tubes, and invasive lines
- Strong EKG interpretation skills and arrhythmia recognition
- Excellent communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and respond calmly in fast-paced situations
- Proficient clinical documentation and electronic charting
