Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and identify realistic, meaningful goals
- Develop and implement individualized OT treatment plans to maximize independence
- Deliver skilled interventions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
- Document progress clearly and timely in the patient record
- Educate patients and families on strategies and adaptive equipment to improve daily living
- Advocate for patient needs and support safe transitions of care
Qualifications
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California (ability to obtain quickly appreciated)
- NBCOT certification preferred or working toward certification
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Comfortable with travel/contract assignments and adaptable to varying facility needs
- Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
Education
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or OTD) from an accredited program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and task analysis
- Knowledge of therapeutic modalities, splinting, and adaptive equipment
- Proficient in developing measurable treatment plans and progress notes
- Familiarity with common acute and subacute diagnoses and rehabilitation strategies
- Comfortable using electronic health records and clinical documentation systems
- Strong time management, prioritization, and patient-education abilities
