Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based orthopedic nursing care to post-op and acute ortho patients
• Assess patient condition regularly and intervene promptly to promote recovery and prevent complications
• Coordinate with surgeons, physical therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver seamless care
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
• Educate patients and families on mobility, wound care, pain management, and discharge planning
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in the medical record to support continuity and quality

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (able to verify licensure/certification)
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS (current)
• Ability to pass Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Up-to-date immunizations and clear drug screen/fit test as part of credentialing
• Comfortable working orthopedic caseloads and collaborating with a busy surgical team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong orthopedic nursing skills including post-op care, mobility assistance, and wound management
• Skilled in patient assessment, triage, and rapid response to changing clinical conditions
• Excellent communication and teamwork—clear handoffs and collaboration matter here
• Familiarity with inpatient nursing workflows, safety protocols, and documentation standards
• Ability to stay organized during fast-paced night shifts and prioritize patient needs
