Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide focused, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, ventilator settings, and other advanced monitoring
• Administer medications and titrate drips safely while following established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
• Perform thorough documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in required competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
• Educate patients and families about care plans and support decision making during critical moments

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (state of Iowa) required
• ICU clinical experience and comfort with critically ill adult patients
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required as listed
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Must complete required health screenings and immunizations including fit test, drug screen, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, influenza, PPD or IGRA, varicella and COVID-19 vaccine
• Successful license and certificate verification prior to assignment

Education

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure in Iowa

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ICU equipment and monitors including ventilators and hemodynamic devices
• Excellent assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
• Skilled in medication administration and drip titration
• Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
• Team-oriented communication and the ability to collaborate under pressure
• Commitment to ongoing learning and passing unit specific competency evaluations
