Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide focused, high-quality critical care to adult ICU patients with compassion and precision
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data, ventilator settings, and other advanced monitoring
- Administer medications and titrate drips safely while following established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute care plans
- Perform thorough documentation and handoffs to ensure continuity of care
- Participate in required competency testing and skills validation to maintain clinical excellence
- Educate patients and families about care plans and support decision making during critical moments
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (state of Iowa) required
- ICU clinical experience and comfort with critically ill adult patients
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required as listed
- Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
- Must complete required health screenings and immunizations including fit test, drug screen, Tdap, MMR, Hep B, influenza, PPD or IGRA, varicella and COVID-19 vaccine
- Successful license and certificate verification prior to assignment
Education
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred
- Current RN licensure in Iowa
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of ICU equipment and monitors including ventilators and hemodynamic devices
- Excellent assessment skills and ability to prioritize in high-acuity situations
- Skilled in medication administration and drip titration
- Comfortable with electronic health record documentation and clinical workflows
- Team-oriented communication and the ability to collaborate under pressure
- Commitment to ongoing learning and passing unit specific competency evaluations
