Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to oncology and med-surg patients on a 13-bed unit
• Administer chemotherapy and other treatments safely and per unit protocols
• Monitor patient status, interpret changes, and intervene or escalate as needed
• Document all care and assessments accurately in the Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate seamless care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care
• Adhere to infection prevention and unit policies to maintain excellent safety records

Qualifications

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) credential - RN required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Med Surg/Oncology experience preferred)
• Chemotherapy Certification is preferred and will make your application stand out
• Experience using Meditech or similar EMR for documentation
• Comfort working night shifts and committing to every other weekend as part of self-scheduling
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a patient-centered approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of oncology and medical-surgical nursing
• Safe chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR documentation
• IV therapy, medication administration, and vital sign monitoring
• Infection prevention practices and attention to detail
• Ability to manage acuity and ratios typically around 5:1 (sometimes 4:1)
• Critical thinking, prioritization, and effective communication with the care team
